FOOD, Inc.

by Gavan on July 15, 2009

Ever wonder where your food comes from….and I don’t mean the supermarket (for all you comedians out there). This video is from a movie that came out last month called Food, Inc. I looked up the website and I’m slightly annoyed at myself for not having had my shit together sooner and gone to see it even though, would you believe I have a flier up on my fridge! I only realized what the subject matter is and believe me I’ll be checking it out asap. Those of you that know me know how passionate I am about food and especially the quality of food I use so this is something that’s right up my alley.

Go ahead and watch this clip and make your own mind up.

I want to hear your thoughts on this, whatever your stand point is, so leave a comment below.

“How much do we really know about the food we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families?”

Intrigued? Here’s another snippit from the opening of the movie. From what I’ve read and seen it’s worth supporting. Tell your friends.  Together we can create change for the better.

This is incredible! Thanks sooo much for passing this along! I can’t wait to see this movie…or maybe I can. lol One of those Catch-22 things…sometimes ignorance really is bliss, though when it comes to our health, this is critical knowledge. Hopefully this movie will make a huge impact. I’m going to be sharing it on my blog as well, linking back to you if that’s okay. Thanks again!

I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time. It’s taken a while to get to the small, independent theater in my city, but it is finally coming August 27. I am a longtime fan of Michael Pollan who appears in this movie.

Thanks for the feedback.
Stampmonkey: Great name btw. I agree, sometimes not knowing is easier but where our health is concerned we need to know. You’ll love the movie. Good conversation starter too.

Michelle: It’ll probably be out on DVD by then or even on tv. Either way you’ll see it. I heard of 2 similar type movies also coming out called ‘Fresh’ and ‘InGREEDients’.
I’ll be looking out for these too.
Pass on the word.
