What’s in Season – February

When people ask me how to know what’s in season I always tell them the best way to know for sure is to go to your local farmers market and see what the farmers are selling. Eating seasonally for me means eating what’s in season in my region.

Here’s a general over view of what’s in season Stateside this month:

Broccoli, Beets, Bok Choy, Brussels Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Chard, Collards, Fennel, Kale, Kohlrabi, Parsnips, Rutabega, Spinach, Sweet potatoes, Mushrooms, Tangerines, Oranges, Grapefruit

If you’re in Ireland this is what you have to play around with:

Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Brussels Sprouts, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celeriac, Kale, Leeks, Mushrooms, Parsnips, Spinach, Swedes, Turnips
